Item #312 is a mythological bird form with horns, it is hand made hand built using a lowfire white earthenware clay body. The form is hand burnished hand painted using black and green underglazes, electric kiln fired. The animal form is connected to my Navajo culture and the origin story of our people where animals played an integral part of this narrative. The green represent the green of the earth, black is all about protection and the night and the white of the clay symbolizes the purity of mother earth.
